Grand Myakka Designs

Wednesday, 11 March 2009

This year, Myakka will be exhibiting at the Grand Designs show between 25th April to 4th May to give shoppers a chance to visit them and their products.

Myakka has had a superb start to the year with a record breaking January sale, donating £5,000 to an Indian school project and visiting overseas suppliers to discuss new designs, materials and fashions for forthcoming seasons.

“It is a very exciting time for our company and for fair trade,” explains Georgie Hopkins, director for Myakka based in Wincanton, Somerset. “We try to source as many products as possible through fair trade while not compromising on quality, design or finish. We have so many beautifully made products including our ranges of furniture and hope that the show will offer shoppers the chance to come and meet us and decide which pieces of furniture would be perfect for their home.”

Myakka’s major growth has been through online sales of their unique dining room tables, beds, chest of drawers, cabinets, chairs and coffee tables, as well as a range of soft furnishings to complement. Yet Georgie is aware that many shoppers like to see such items in ‘the flesh’ before making their purchasing decision.

“We decided to exhibit at this year’s Grand Design’s show to give visitors a chance to touch and feel our products to see the quality for themselves,” says Georgie.

Myakka will be taking a whole range of products to the Grand Design’s show and individuals can find them on stand L98 in the Interior Section. For further information or to register for Myakka’s promotional offers newsletter visit  Visitors can also receive a £6 saving on each Grand Design ticket by quoting the promo code ‘EXHIB’ when ordering their tickets in advance, visit or call 0871 230 5577.
