India Visit- new furniture for Autumn 2011!

Simon and Alexandra have just returned from a very productive trip to India. Not only have the pair signed off around 30 new furniture designs but they have also sourced some great new soft furnishings and new giftware.

The new furniture lines will be launched in the Autumn in our catalogue, online and in our Warehouse Outlet in Wincanton, Somerset. This will include new pieces for our flagship Mallani range as well as new items for our new ranges; Chandra, Hathi and Pali.

Our furniture supplier also took the two on a tour of a new production facility which is being built exclusively for production of Myakka furniture. The building will be full of modern facilities and items of furniture will be made from start to finish in the factory. This will help make sure the quality of our furniture is always great as the whole process, from timber selection to the finished piece of furniture, can be monitored.

This trip was not all about the furniture though. For the first time Simon and Alexandra met with textile and gift ware suppliers who can supply Myakka directly. This is great news for Myakka as it means we will have better control over both the quality and the quantity of stock making our textiles even better for our customer. This also means we have more control over the whole supply chain and make sure that everything is being completed to fair trade standards.

These regular visits out to meet our supplier in India means that we can build on our excellent relationship with our suppliers as well as start new relationships that will hopefully as be as successful . It also gives us the chance to go out and visit sub contractors and ensure that the whole Myakka supply chain is fair trade.

During their stay Simon and Alexandra also visited SKSN School. This is a great chance to see all the good work that the school is doing . Watch this space for more information on everything that has been happening at SKSN!
