Team Myakka Christmas Traditions

Wednesday, 30 November 2011

As we take the first steps into December and open the first windows on our advent calendars we all begin to feel a little bit Christmassy. With this in mind we thought it would be nice to share some of the Myakka’s team Christmas traditions.

Mark likes to kick things off by putting the Christmas tree up on the first Saturday of December.

Rich likes to put some antlers and a red nose on his dog to make him look like Rudolph.

Peter gets into the Christmas spirit by staring in the local pantomime, this year’s show is Dick Turpin.

Liz likes to make the children feel Christmassy by sprinkling talcum powder on the floor and making paper reindeer footprints.

Simon likes to start the feasting early and always has a big Chinese on Christmas Eve with all the family.

Paul likes to decorate pillow cases with the kids which they then put at the end of their beds ready for Father Christmas.

Alexandra and her kids still all pile into her bedroom where they open their stockings (the youngest ‘kid’ is now 28!)

James likes to get into the festive mood with drinks in the pub on Christmas Eve with lots of friends.

Claire always starts wearing her Christmas earrings on the 1st December.

Cherry loves to try and illuminate the town with her amazing Christmas light display complete with singing Father Christmas!

Orrin goes on a long walk with the family on Boxing Day to try and burn off some of their Christmas Dinner.

Natalie likes to spend Boxing Day watching as many Christmas Films as possible and eating all her Christmas chocolate.

However you chose to spend your Christmas we hope it is a happy filled with traditions both old and new.
