Behind the Scenes of new catalogue Photo Shoot

Wednesday, 10 July 2013

We have kicked off the production of our new catalogue with our week long photography session. For this photo shoot, we returned to the beautiful Belmont House, a late Georgian property on the outskirts of Salisbury.  With a packed schedule (as ever!), we took lots of exciting new shots of both our new Autumn lines and some of our most popular existing pieces of Indian furniture, kilims and home accessories.

This Autumn will see new lines in Mallani, Hathi and Gypsy ranges as well as new soft furnishings and home accessories. There will also be an exclusive new range making its first appearance in the September… watch this space for more details!

Belmont House has beautiful gardens and we always try and make best use of the outdoors whenever we can. However the weather in June wasn’t the best this year and we had to pounce on any sunshine when it appeared to get some lovely outdoor images, including Bede the dog having a snooze in the sun on some of our new Kilim cushions.

The shoot took place over five days with the team making the most of all the interesting and different rooms that the house has to offer.  Once again, we worked with the very talented photographer David McDowall who we have worked with now for a number of shoots. We always try hard to capture the detail of the furniture in a real setting so it can take a little time to capture the perfect image, with lots of prop swapping in the process!

The design and creative team are now busy working hard to turn all their lovely images into a beautiful catalogue full of exciting new pieces designed especially for you. Don’t miss out… if you’re not already on the Myakka mailing list, make sure you sign up so you’re included in the first mailing of the new catalogue hot off the press in September.  Simply click here to get yours.
