War on Waste? We're right behind you Hugh!

Here at Myakka we welcome the call-to-arms made by Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall in his latest BBC1 TV series, Hugh's War on Waste.  While episode one focussed on waste in Hugh's home territory of food (power to the ugly parsnip!), episode two sees him venture into the world of textiles and clothing. Bravo Hugh! This is an issue to close to our hearts and we've been championing recycled textiles for years.

Many of our popular products are made from recycled materials, including our favourite Moti Ari collection including cushions, wall hangings, table mats and runners. Also made of reclaimed recycled fabrics is a selection of rugs: rainbow round rugs and spiral rugs.

This season, we also introduced an exciting new rug to our range, made from recycled plastic, the Everywhere Eco Rug can be used indoors or outdoors as it is easily cleaned. Yet despite it's recycled nature and dual functionality it gets full marks for contemporary style!

So well done Hugh, we're right behind you. Can't wait for episode 2. BBC 1 Monday 9 November 2015.
