Fancy a sneak peek behind the scenes of the Myakka spring photo shoot? Well, you’re in luck… Gloomy, overcast winter days aren’t the most ideal for a photo shoot for any campaign. So, conjuring up the freshness of spring was a challenge for the creative team to overcome this January.

Spring Photo Shoot Location

At a secret location in Somerset, the Myakka team assembled, with favourite photographer David, to capture the fabulousness of new and exciting furniture and home accessory products being introduced this spring. Preferring to shoot in lived-in homes, these shots offer customers a realistic view of how furniture pieces can look in their own homes. And real-life propping adds to the look too; a cup of tea here, or a crossword and specs there. In fact, the homeowner looks to have just stepped out of the room.

Pet Potential

Of course, we couldn’t forget to mention Dave the dog and Jack the cat! They add that real life aspect – certainly not camera shy and particular lovers of Myakka’s new rug and upholstery collections. Equally, we know our customers are particularly pet friendly (or at least they love our Noodle dogs and Coco the Cat Table – maybe it’s the low vets’ fees?)

Natural Light – Short Days

David, ever the professional, avoids artificial lighting where he can. This is what lends such a beautiful, natural feel to Myakka’s photos. So, with a schedule as tight and as timely as can be, the team cracked on shooting the gorgeous new pieces before the light began to fade. And as the evening drew in, switched up to fresh new lighting shots, to make the most of the day.
