National Wool Week

It’s National Wool Week, so we’re taking the time to enjoy the fantastic collection of wool rugs, kilims and cushions at Myakka. Being so hardwearing, wool is an ideal material for making rugs and upholstery, whether on its own or combined with other materials such as cotton or jute. It has withstood extreme elements on a sheep over many months. It’s this durable attribute that makes it perfect for rugs in active homes in high traffic areas. Wool is also excellent at taking on a dye, allowing for a rich variety of colours and patterns. These colourful, highly patterned rugs, cushions and upholstered products are so popular with our customers whether they enjoy a Bohemian décor or a traditional home style.

Myakka Rugs, Kilims & Cushions

Our rugs, kilims and cushions are primarily woven in India by skilled artisans using traditional skills passed down the generations. All of our woven products are Goodweave-certified. Goodweave is a pioneering charity which works to stop child labour in the carpet and rug industry in countries such as India and Nepal. Since it’s National Wool Week, we wanted to share some of our favourite woven wool products… Kilim Wool Cushions from £29 Our Navajo Kilim Cushion is a lovely addition to your living room, floor or even outside on the patio.
