Here at Myakka, we try to do our bit for like-minded social enterprises, so once again, we are proud to support the recently introduced Social Saturday initiative. Started in 2014, this event is supported by the national body for social enterprises, Social Enterprise UK (SEUK), by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport and the Co-op.
Social Saturday is an annual campaign to raise awareness of the difference that social enterprises make to communities on your doorstep and all over the world, and to encourage consumers to support these businesses when making purchasing decisions. Social enterprises are businesses that put people and planet first. They reinvest profits to provide training, employment, housing, health, education, clean water and much more.
