VAT may have increased but we're holding our prices

Thursday, 30 December 2010

Happy New Year to all our customers!

As you’ll know, on the 4th January the VAT rate will increase from 17.5% to 20%, however as part of our commitment to maintain affordable pricing and offer exceptional value for money, we have chosen to absorb this increase and will be holding our prices at the 2010 levels for the time being.

And with our amazing Winter Sale currently in full swing, there really is no better time to shop at Myakka!

We’ve got some really great offers on a wide range of solid wood furniture including best selling beds, coffee tables, bookcases and sideboards, along with fantastic deals on our wide selection of soft furnishings and home accessories.

Remember, the Myakka Winter Sale ends on Sunday 23rd January so don’t delay!

Snow Disruption – Update 20th December 2010

Monday, 20 December 2010

Over the weekend and today we have had a lot of snow fall. This means that some of our couriers are finding it difficult to reach us and collect our orders. If this is the case we are, where possible, changing the service so that we can get your order to you in time for Christmas. According to the weather forecast we are also forecasted more snow tomorrow. This, if like today, may mean that some of our couriers struggle to reach us again.

.

Couriers are also finding it difficult to deliver in some places although they are trying to make deliveries pre- Christmas and are working extra hours to facilitate this.

.

If your area is particularly affected by snow please be patient, if you have an outstanding order that you placed online please use your consignment number on your dispatch to track your item on the couriers website.

.

Mother Nature is making life a little tricky for us all at the moment and we are trying everything we can to make it run as smoothly as possible!

Snow Disruption – update 16th December 2010

Thursday, 16 December 2010

Deliveries

.

Our last order date for medium and large furniture for pre-Christmas delivery is now closed so we can no longer guarantee delivery of any item requiring the Delivery+ service.  This includes any item that includes a delivery charge of £10 or £30.

.

For small furniture, gifts and accessories we are still able to accept orders for pre-Christmas deliveries up until midnight on Tuesday 21st December. For Scottish deliveries we are able to take orders up until midnight on Thursday 16th December, although we are unable to guarantee delivery.  Any orders placed after these dates will not arrive pre-Christmas.

.

Although we will endeavour to do everything we can to get your order for you in time for Christmas please be aware that our couriers are working hard to clear the backlog from the adverse weather conditions and that we are predicted more snow over the next few days. For this reason we ask you to order as soon as you can to avoid any further delays!

Snow Disruption - update 13th December 2010

Scottish Deliveries

The adverse weather conditions have caused a large backlog for our couriers in Scotland. Unfortunately, for this reason the last order date for small furniture, gifts and accessories for pre-Christmas delivery is now Thursday 16th December. Any orders for Scotland placed after midnight on this date will not be guaranteed for pre-Christmas delivery.  Please note the order deadline for large furniture for Scottish deliveries is now closed so please consider this when ordering.

.

For the rest of the UK, the last order date for pre-Christmas delivery of small furniture gifts and accessories is still Tuesday 21st December although we do recommend that you order as soon as possible to avoid any further delays.

Snow Disruption – update 8th December 2010

Wednesday, 8 December 2010

Deliveries:

Unfortunately due to adverse weather conditions across the country, our couriers are struggling with impassable roads and an increasing backlog of orders to deliver.

 .

It is with regret that from today onwards, we can no longer guarantee pre-Christmas delivery of large furniture items into Scotland.  We would also like to flag that the northern depots of our two-man delivery company are currently running up to 6 days behind schedule and are likely to also have a cut off put in place shortly, unless the weather conditions improve rapidly.

 .

As an alternative, we can offer a basic one-man delivery service should you be happy to accept this – we appreciate that it’s not ideal, but it is an option.  At this stage, we can still dispatch orders for pre-Christmas delivery using this method, but we would advise customers of the following constraints of the service:

.

This is not a two-man delivery service and for health & safety reasons, the driver...

~can only move the pallet using the pump truck

~cannot assist you in removing your furniture from the pallet

~cannot assist you in manoeuvring the furniture into your home

~will not able to remove the packaging from your property

 .

Container Shipments:

The weather is also affecting deliveries of stock to our warehouse and we have just heard that a shipment due to dock at the port on Sunday is still yet to berth at Southampton so unfortunately, we are having to reschedule onward deliveries to customers of stock within this container.  If this affects your order, we will be calling you shortly.

 .

Please be assured that we are working hard and doing our utmost to get your orders to you in time for the festive season.  We really appreciate your understanding during this time and while we all love a bit of snow here at Myakka, it would be much appreciated if Mother Nature could have held off until January!

 .

We’ll keep updating this blog with any news as and when we receive it.
