Dangling from the treetops might not seem a productive way to spend the working day, but last week the whole Myakka team from Wincanton and Guildford, downed tools for a day of fun and mental challenges in the countryside. This annual company day out took us to the other side of Somerset for some team building exercises and allowed us to take a short break from helping our customers and tackling furniture logistics.

Splitting into four teams across mixed departments, the friendly rivalry soon surfaced as we were led across some pretty ‘out of your comfort zone’ challenges. Learning how to ‘levitate’ and transfer radioactive rods from one tube to another was heaps of fun, but the crate stack really sorted the men from the boys (sorry ladies, it’s just a saying!).

At the end of the challenge, a nail-biting tie-break was resolved by rock, paper, scissors, only for the winner of that to have failed in discovering the ultimate winning code to unlock the treasure chest! The tension!

Congratulations to Vicki’s team, the supreme champions of decoding! Bring it on next year.

Thanks to Mendip Outdoor Pursuits for a fun day, and thanks to Donna for supplying the sweeties to keep our team going.
