The Dreaded Ring Mark!

Our guide makes it easy to remove water stains and ring marks from real wood furniture!

Now the festive season is over it is often the case that our homes need a little extra TLC.  The last few weeks have probably brought extra visitors and guests to your home. This means lots of cups of tea and coffee; which can lead to dreaded water stains and ring marks!

Now is a great time to give your furniture a little care to bring it back to its best. This guide is our tried and tested method. Making it easy to remove water stains from your furniture.

Preparation

We recommend always using coasters but sometimes accidents happen! No need to fear though – remove water stains and ring marks from your Myakka furniture with our simple guide.

Beeswax polish, wire wool and a soft cloth. We recommend using Mylands Traditional Wax Polish for keeping your Myakka furniture looking its best.

The Antique Mahogany wax is perfect for our Sheesham ranges as the slight colour in the wax will maintain the colour and finish of the MallaniThakatJasmeen and Hathi ranges.

The clear wax is perfect for the SurinStonemill and the tops of the Milborne ranges as it will maintain the finish but won’t add to the colour at all.

As well as helping to remove ring marks, Mylands Wax is perfect for the general care of your furniture. Additionally, it feeds the wood and gives your furniture a lovely natural lustre.

The 4 simple steps:

  1. Start with a very fine grade wire wool, we recommend a 0000 grade.
  2. Using the wire wool, rub the ring mark and surrounding area down.  Always rub the furniture in the same direction as the grain of the wood.
  3. Once the ring mark or water stain has been removed, use a soft cloth to apply some wax to the area, rubbing in a circular motion.
  4. Leave for 20-30 minutes to really sink in and then buff off with a soft cloth. This step is really important and this will remove any residue and will give your furniture a lovely lustre.
