Myakka is famous for lots of things: great furniture, importing a Rikshaw from India, even group banana eating, but their photographer’s antics have caught the limelight on this occasion!

Simon De Glanville travels the world as a professional photographer, yet when he is at home in London, he often ventures to the park with a bag of chips or kebab to entice some of the ‘locals’. This random pastime was picked up by a few of the national newspapers this week when his photographs of local London wildlife came to light. Photographing pigeons in Peckham wasn’t exactly what Simon wanted to be known for, but it seems now his secret is out!

Simon explains his ‘pet project’ London Wildlife: ‘People tend to be very interested in the lives of animals on the other side of the planet, but we often overlook the interesting behaviour happening on our doorsteps.’ While his work was always supposed to about capturing interesting images of pigeons just for fun, other animals such as squirrels, ducks and near by dogs got in on the act. He has even produced a fantastic image of a dog eating a Kebab!

While we congratulate Simon on his national exposure, we just hope that we can drag him from the park long enough to photograph our furniture and lovely new products next week! Then again, if he can make a half eaten kebab look good, we know we’re in safe hands!
