This Spring we have introduced two new fair trade furniture collections, Fernley and Nomad. These two new ranges have been designed based on customer feedback and research, and have been in development for the last six months to make sure that every detail is right.
Fernley Collection – timeless fair trade furniture with verdant charm
This new range contrasts softly distressed, sage green paint with mellow, waxed, natural wood. Green by nature as well as by colour, the range is handcrafted from sustainably sourced, solid reclaimed pine in Vietnam. Each characterful piece is completely unique, wearing its knots, nail holes and other imperfections from its previous life with pride. Finishing touches are provided by the bevelled edges and burnished metal cup handles and pulls.
The range includes 10 individual furniture pieces. Our favourites include the Fernley Hallway Organiser Bench, complete with open cubby holes, a two door cupboard, four burnished metal hooks and a wooden seat. Similarly, the Fernley Coffee Table is a neat way to store away every day clutter in the living room. It has an easy-to-get-to open shelf as well as a drawer. The Fernley Narrow Dresser shows off the reclaimed pine beautifully with two large shelved and a sideboard base.
Nomad Collection – inspired by global travels
Crafted in India from solid mango wood, Nomad makes an original feature of hand-carved tribal patterns and characterful sawmill markings – with the details picked out in whitewash. A toasty burnt wax effect finishes every piece. Carved knobs and turned bun feet complete the look of these utterly unique, fairly traded Myakka exclusives.
This capsule fair trade furniture collection currently includes 6 individual furniture pieces. Some of our favourites include the Nomad Sideboard, complete with two full-height cupboards with fixed mid shelves for plate sets and serving boards. Equally useful are the three drawers to store your cutlery, tablemats and linen. Add some finishing touches, such as a table-top lamp and family photographs, to make the perfect centrepiece for your dining room or kitchen. The Nomad Small Cabinet proves that even the smallest items of fair trade furniture can express your style. This wonderfully original and beautifully crafted little chest is full of eclectic charm. Ideal for your bedside to store all your overnight essentials.
