Fair trade fortnight is quickly approaching and this year’s theme is ‘Take a step’.  This year’s fortnight will run from the 27th February until the 1st March.  Over the last few years we have supported fair trade fortnight with fair trade tea parties, our big bag swap and eating a lot of fair trade bananas.

Taking a step for fair trade is all about making little steps to promote, use and support fair trade. Whether it means you buy some fair trade roses for your loved one this valentines or asking a shop to stock your favourite fair trade product or even encouraging your workplace to only buy fair trade tea and coffee. There are lots of little things you can do to take a step towards supporting fair trade.

The Fair Trade Foundation is asking for people to register their steps to foundations website. The aim is to record 1,500,000 steps this year, so if you make a step make sure that you register to show everyone the support that fair trade has in the UK. So even if you have chosen to buy a fair trade cotton tea shirt or just tried to persuade someone you know to swap their normal tea for fair trade tea, make sure you register your contribution.

What many steps will you take…? Need some inspiration…take a look at the Fair Trade Foundations Facebook and Twitter pages for lots of ideas and to read others success stories.

Dont forget to let us know what steps you have taken on our Facebook and Twitter pages.
