There is a lot of excitement here at Myakka as we launch four new hardwood furniture ranges this spring: Chandra, Pali, Hathi and Surin. These new Sheesham , Mango and Monkey Pod ranges means we are able to offer you a greater choice of products to  harmonise with your home.

.

Chandra is the Hindi wood for moon and true to its namesake; this range is all about curves, smooth edges and lunar cut outs for handles.  Crafted in ever popular Sheesham hardwood, these pieces contrast beautifully with the geometric lines of Myakka’s flagship Mallani range.  Our favourites include the Chandra Coffee Table which has a modern twist on a fifties classic creating a real conversation piece.   With its smooth lines and gently softened edges, the Chandra TV Unit has the ability to make modern technology look comfortably at home.

More subtle by nature, the Pali range of furniture is crafted from solid Mango wood.  A new timber for us, this harmonious range is all about simple, understated lines.  Crafted, carved and waxed by hand, Pali furniture has decorative groves and solid wooden knobs to add finesse to this sustainable tropical wood.  Some of the favourite pieces include the Pali Glazed Cabinet which sets the perfect scene to display precious items with a hint of unassuming maturity.  Simple and elegant, the stylish Pali Console Table has two airy, slated shelves and roomy drawers summing up the range’s inherent charm.

The Hathi range provides a real touch of the East.  Our best selling elephant family of furniture has now herded together into its very own collection.  Pronounced ‘hatti’, it’s Hindi for elephant and every piece features classically hand carved elephants set into the ornate framework of traditional Indian Sheesham wood.  Favourite pieces from this range include the best selling Hathi Cupboard with eight hand carved elephants providing access to organised storage within.  Storage is high on the priority list with the brand new Hathi Storage Seat.  Developed upon the best selling Mallani Storage Seat, this piece has all the practicality of its muse with the additional appeal of enclosed storage and hand carved elephant detail.

Different in both nationality and looks, the Surin range is hand carved by skilled artisans in northern Thailand to create not just furniture but individual works of art.  Contemporary designs with rich grains and a lustrous finish, the favourite from this range is the Surin Infinity Table.  Hand carved from a single piece of timber, this versatile showpiece is available in two different sizes and finishes.
