As regular readers of our blog may know, we love an excuse to have a party and eat cake! And the Queens Jubilee celebrating her 60years on the throne was the perfect excuse for a Myakka  party. Around 16 of the Myakka team bought in goodies for us all the share including party favourites; sausage rolls, cocktail sausages, mini pork pies and scotch eggs, smoked salmon sandwiches and pizza as well as an amazing selection of homemade cakes including millionaire shortbread, lemon drizzle cake, chocolate brownies, cream and fruit meringues and Victoria sandwich cake decorated with fresh strawberries.

The Warehouse Shop doors were closed for 20 minutes as we drank a toast to the Queen with pink lemonade and coke and went about enjoying the massive pile of food we had to get through.  A great afternoon was had by all of us and we all ate a little too much….well we did have to sample a little bit of everything.

Our new Warehouse Assistant Martin looked like the cat who got the cream as he set to work whipping the cream for the fruit meringues as directed by Liz. Donna was in Peter’s good book as she made him special (and delicious) wheat free mini Victoria sandwiches, she then went on to make the most amazing Malteser cake and smoked salmon sandwiches! Rich from the warehouse continued to amaze us with his eating capacity and he sampled at least a little bit of everything, and then some! A lovely lunch was had by us all. All we need now is another excuse to eat lots of sausages and cake! Maybe it could become a regular Friday thing….
