While we celebrate hosting the Olympics in London this summer, there will be inevitable knock-on effects on the UK transport system. We have been working with our couriers to ensure that deliveries remain as seamless as possible. Inevitably there may be some delays around any areas near Olympic events, including those outside London such as Weymouth and Coventry.  Please be assured that both Myakka and our selected couriers are working hard to minimise this disruption and would ask for your understanding should there be any minor delays during this time.

 

The busiest periods will be during the actual Olypmic Games from 27th July to 12th August and the Paralympic Games from 29th August to 9th September.  However due to the flurry of activity aroun the Olympic set up and break-down, there is a possiblity that delays could happen anytime between 15th July and 15th September.

We use various different couriers depending on the products in your order. Our dedicated Myakka customer service team will let you know which courier company your order will arrive by. All of our couriers have invested time and resources over the last couple of years to prepare for the Olympics and ensure that deliveries run as smoothly as possible during this period.

For many small items of furniture and accessories with a £4.95 delivery charge, these will be despatched with either Parcel Force or Interlink depending on the size of the order. Both these couriers are running extra staff and vehicles within affected areas in an effort to maintain standard delviery services.

For large or bulky furniture which incur a £10 or £30 delivery charge, these items will be delivered with our courier Yodel. Again they are executing plans to minimize disruption but they do predict there will be a delay in any areas in or around Olympics events.
There will be certain areas of London and other venues where there will be a complete lock down on deliveries at certain addresses for security reasons. If this is the case for your order we will of course discuss the best possible actions to make sure your delivery arrives with you in the best possible condition and in the timeliest manner, this may involve delaying despatch until after the Olympics or having delivery made to a different address.
